Resources help inform, support reconciliation

A NEW resource library was officially opened by the Rural City of Wangaratta last Friday, to tie in with National Reconciliation Week (May 27-June 3).

An informal gathering, hosted by council’s cultural partnerships officer Kellie Sutherland, was held to launch council’s Reconciliation Resource Library which includes a selection of books and the development of an open, accessible space in which to discuss ideas around reconciliation.

Reflecting on this year’s National Reconciliation Week theme “Grounded in Truth: Walk Together with Courage”, and how that looks for our community, Ms Sutherland said the resources has been selected with guidance from Reconciliation Victoria and recommendations from the community.
