Alpine MDF worker flown to Melbourne, limb saved with emergency surgery

A WANGARATTA man was rushed to a Melbourne hospital on Sunday night with non-life threatening injuries after his hand became caught in a paint machine.

The long-term Alpine MDF employee was cleaning the machine at the North Wangaratta plant when his hand was caught between two rollers.

People on the scene applied first aid and the man was conveyed to hospital by Ambulance Victoria in a stable condition.
