Whorouly Lions’ vision in line with Phil Cleary anti-violence call

WORKING TOGETHER: Broadcaster and activist Phil Cleary will be in Wangaratta tonight and tomorrow to discuss how the community can work together to end family violence.

A LOCAL football club has thrown its support behind this week’s visit by family violence activist Phil Cleary, who will speak in Wangaratta this evening and tomorrow morning.

Mr Cleary will be at the Wangaratta Performing Arts and Convention Centre tonight for a session that coincides with Law Week, focused on the community working together to end family violence, and will join Women’s Health Goulburn North East in the morning to run a masterclass on gender equity in sports leadership at the Wangaratta Gateway.

Whorouly Lions Football Netball Club has welcomed any local initiatives which provide education to help people understand the role they can play to build safer communities and work towards decreasing family violence.
