Councillors endorse draft $66m budget, seek public comment

A $41.3m record capital works in the Rural City of Wangaratta council’s draft 2019/20 budget is now on public exhibition after being officially endorsed by councillors at their monthly meeting on Tuesday night.

The $66 million budget provides funding for key projects, headlined by the Aquatics Project ($13.186 million to be spent in 19/20), Organics Processing Plant ($1.4 million) and Cruse Street extension ($5 million).

Core transport infrastructure accounts for the majority of spending, with $10.5 million to be spent on roads, $513,000 on footpaths, $967,000 on drainage and $850,000 on kerb and channel.
