    SPECIALIST career advisors in secondary schools and greater financial support for country students studying away from home are just two of the ideas put forward to the Expert Regional Education Advisory Group during their fact funding tour of the country.

    The advisory group was formed by the Federal Government in November last year following the development of the National Regional, Rural and Remote Higher Education Strategy to drive increased participation in post-secondary education.

    The strategy was part of the government’s response to the recommendations of Emeritus Professor John Halsey’s Independent Review into Regional, Rural and Remote Education.
