Cyclists set off for cure

RURAL City of Wangaratta mayor Dean Rees fired the starter’s pistol in the city at 8am this morning, signalling the start of the High Country Charity Ride 2019.

A group of local cyclists devoted to the cause of raising money for cancer research, as part of the Tour de Cure, set off on a 500km ride across some of the best country terrain in Australia.

Today they’re riding to Whorouly then across the Buckland Gap to Beechworth, Stanley, Myrtleford, navigating the rail trail to Bright.
