    A THIRST to learn and a dedication to achieve a mature age career change was enough for Wangaratta employee Glen McIlroy to graduate as a paramedic.

    He is one of 450 paramedics that have been recruited by the State Government as part of its 2014 election promise.

    The Mount Beauty man travels to Wangaratta every day to undertake his first year on the job as a paramedic, after graduating from Flinders University last year.
