Expert handler asks people to consider changing their views about snakes

REGULAR sightings of snakes in unsuspecting places have kept Wangaratta snake catch Darren Frankland on his toes this summer.

But while people have been brought up to fear snakes, he urges people to adopt a feeling of respect to the reptile and definitely not try to kill them.

He’s been pulling them out of shops in Wangaratta’s central business district and people’s urban backyards, along with a fair few from rural properties, with up to 20 safely caught and removed this summer.
