Patrol’s out in force for Australia Day

WANGARATTA Highway Patrol will be targeting speed, failure to wear seatbelts, mobile phone distraction and fatigue over the next four days as part of the state-wide Operation Amity.

There will be increased police presence on the roads across the state of Victoria to ensure communities remain safe during the Australia Day long weekend.

Highway patrol’s Senior Sergeant Darren Wittingslow said that the operation will focus on getting people within the region to their destination safely.
