FORMER Wangaratta Rovers midfielder Alex Marklew is hoping a change of VFL clubs will give him more opportunity to play at state level in 2019.

After three years at Essendon, Marklew has made the switch and will play for Werribee under former Port Adelaide premiership coach Mark Williams.

The decision to switch VFL clubs makes sense for the talented midfield/forward as he was unable to break into the Bombers’ VFL side, which was consistently stacked with AFL talent.
