WODONGA engineer Steven Martin is expected to be officially endorsed as the Liberal candidate for Indi later this week.

The 39 year old was chosen as the preferred pre-selected candidate, ahead of other strong contenders Stephen Brooks and Andrew Walpole, by the majority of 120 Liberal Party members in Wangaratta on Saturday.

Acting Victorian Liberal Party president, Bev McArthur, who officiated the preselection proceedings, said she expected the party’s state administrative committee to officially endorse Mr Martin before the end of this week.
