Community unites for White Ribbon march

200 gather to voice opposition to violence against women

APPROXIMATELY 200 members of the Wangaratta community showed their support for White Ribbon Day on Friday as they proudly marched through the streets of Wangaratta led by event organiser Tish Richens.

Mayor Ken Clarke led the oath to stand up, speak out and prevent men’s violence against women which was echoed by local politicians, emergency service personnel, schools, community and charity groups and the general public.

Chair of the 4 Kids and Carers Future Foundation Jason Reid was a key speaker at the ceremony concluding the walk and took the oath last week.
