THIS month’s Puka Up Wangaratta Community Walk is shaping as a powerful expression of community concern about the tragic local incidence of suicide.

Since the initiative was launched in early August, more than 160 people have registered to walk the streets of Wangaratta on the AFL Grand Final Day public holiday to confront the issue in unity.

And more than 500 people have expressed interest in attending, through a facebook page dedicated to the event.

Those seeking to register their interest in the Puka Up Wangaratta Community Walk can do so via the Facebook page, and then turn up to the event on September 28.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a personal crisis, contact Lifeline on 13 11 14, or Beyond Blue on 1300 224 636.
