Woman’s eight year jail term for trafficking an “evil” drug

A WOMAN who oversaw the operation of a drug syndicate based in Wangaratta that sold almost $900,000 worth of illicit ice was yesterday sentenced to eight years imprisonment.

Jasmine Bourne, 28, of Wangaratta, appeared at Shepparton County Court after earlier pleading guilty to six charges, including trafficking a commercial quantity of methylamphetamine and a range of driving offences.

Judge John Smallwood handed down a sentence of eight years imprisonment with five years and three months non-parole period and fined the accused $2000.
