Top facilities and poor attendance figures on border help secure Wangaratta grand final

REIGNING premier Wangaratta will host the 2018 Ovens and Murray Football Netball League grand final this September, the first time it’s headed south of the border in 24 years.

A unanimous decision was delivered by the O&M league board based on Wangaratta’s proven AFL standard facilities, along with a recent history of poor border attendance figures (6425 last year) at Lavington.

Wangaratta Magpies president Tony Goodison was thrilled with the decision and thanked the rural city council for its “strong support” in helping compile the submission.
