KING Valley’s most popular product Prosecco has been introduced to a significant world market as Brown Brothers prepares to join fellow Australian winemakers at Vinexpo in Hong Kong this week.

Representatives from all 12 of Australia’s First Families of Wine (AFFW), including the Brown family, will participate in Wine Australia’s feature program at Vinexpo 2018 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 29 to 31, before taking their products on the road as part of the China Roadshow 2018.

It’s going to be the first time in five years Brown Brothers executive director Ross Brown has attended such an expo and he is looking forward to seeing how the Asian markets’ interest in wine had evolved in that time.

Like other members of the AFFW a second generation will also be there as part of the program, with Mr Brown’s daughter Katherine flying over to take up the mantle on the roadshow, meeting with Chinese importers, distributors, wholesalers and the media in the cities of Shenyang, Wu-han, Jinan and Shanghai over a week in June.

“Vinexpo is not just about China and Hong Kong, it’s a window for Asia including Taiwan, South Korea and Vietnam, so it’s quite cost effective to be in one spot where they can all come and see you,” Mr Brown said.
