NORTH Wangaratta Football Netball Club will be one of the first to benefit under a 10-year plan to upgrade facilities at the rural city’s sporting venues.
Council tabled its sport and recreation infrastructure plan this week, a working document that maps how, when and where it plans to source government grants from.
At the top of the list is the North Wangaratta Reserve’s ‘female friendly changerooms’ that will have a price tag of $250,000, due for completion by March 2020.
New netball courts costing $330,000 that includes in-kind contributions are expected to be playable by the start of the 2020 season.
New lighting at the reserve is scheduled to be installed in year two of the plan by the start of the 2021 Ovens and King football/netball season.
