PRIMED: Michael Newton headlines the O&M interleague squad.

OVENS and Murray co-coach Jon Henry says preparations for Saturday’s interleague clash against the Western Region are going well with the team to be finalised tomorrow night.

While star midfielders Brodie Filo, Christian Burgess and Daniel Cross are all unavailable, there is plenty to like about the potential line-up.

Yarrawonga’s Mark Whiley, Albury’s Brayden O’Hara as well as Wangaratta stars Matt Grossman, Michael Bordignon and Michael Newton headline the group, which is likely to feature more youngsters than recent seasons.

Wangaratta youngster Joe Richards has also been drafted into the squad, which will be trimmed from 27 to 22 at tomorrow night’s final training session at Yarrawonga.

Henry, who will co-coach the side with former Myrtleford star Brad Murray, said everything was looking positive ahead of Saturday’s clash.

“We’ve had a couple pull out but that’s the norm,” he said.
