MORE than 200 people helped raise $8000 to fight breast cancer at Wangaratta’s fourth annual Mother’s Day Classic, held in Apex Park yesterday morning.

For Wangaratta grandmother Tracey Crole, walking four kilometres with her daughter Caitlin Kelley and grandson Glenn Cazaly was the “perfect gift” for mother’s day.

“We’ve got a history of breast cancer on both sides of the family, so we just really wanted to come down and show our support,” said Caitlin.

“It was also something special to do with mum, who is so very supportive of us and everything we do…and she’s a great babysitter.”

Co-organiser Linda D’Agostino, herself a breast cancer survivor, said while numbers and fundraising were down on last year, the event had still been quite successful, and will continue again next year.
