WANGARATTA City has high hopes for the upcoming Albury/Wodonga Football Association’s senior ladies competition with the introduction of several new key players.

Leading the inclusions for the Red Devils is English recruit Leanne Branson, who plies her trade with Leicester City in the UK Northern Premier League.

Branson will bolster the Red Devils’ midfield along with Myrtleford recruit Annie Rowley and Zoe Marshall, who has come from State League One premier Melbourne University.

Add to that the inclusions of former Wangaratta junior Jacinta Findley in goals as well as Laura Phillips (nee Antonello) and it’s easy to see why the expectations are high at South Wangaratta.

After a fifth place finish in 2017, coach Tom Marshall said the Red Devils had worked hard in the off-season and were now focused on the job at hand.

“I’d be really disappointed if we didn’t finish top three,” he said.
