AFTER years battling away with the bottom sides on the ladder, Greta coach Greg Newbold said a finals finish was possible for his side, adding the Blues had more belief than previous seasons.
It has been more than a decade since the Blues last tasted finals action and even further back to their last premiership back in 1999.
And while talk of premierships is probably a touch premature for this group, a return to the finals cauldron is certainly not.
Newbold said the Blues had high expectations heading into the 2018 season following the off-season additions of Josh Bell and Robbie Mullen, but added they needed to win the close games they lost in 2017.
“We’d expect more of the natural progression we had last year,” he said.
“We were coming from a low base but the guys have got another pre-season in them so we think we are fitter again and the skill set is there.
