THE opportunity to play more VFL football has seen Dylan Stone transfer from Port Melbourne to Coburg.
Last year’s Bob Rose medallist as Wangaratta Rovers’ best and fairest originally signed with Port Melbourne back in December but has taken his talents to Coburg City Oval in the hopes of playing more VFL games this year.
“I had been training with Coburg since late January so when Leigh (Adams) put the contract in front of me I couldn’t say no,” Stone said.
“They were very keen to give me the opportunity so I took it with both hands.”
Stone underwent corrective surgery on his left knee in November, and has began training with the Lions.
“I can complete about 70 per cent of the training program now that I have two months of strength and rehabilitation behind me,” he said.
Stone has signed with Wangaratta Rovers as his home club in 2018.
