A Wangaratta businessman and fishing enthusiast has joined forces with a team including Geelong star Patrick Dangerfield to showcase a stunning island in the Gulf of Carpentaria.

With his Athletes of the Sea mates, Dangerfield and ‘Bomber’ Farrell, Barry Sullivan will bring beautiful Groote Eylandt into the homes of Australians when the group’s fishing show, The Last Cast, airs on Prime 7 in April.

Barry fell in love with the island on a fishing trip eight years ago, and with mate ‘Bomber’ Farrell, saw its potential as the base for a fishing show with a difference.

“Groote Eylandt is one of the most special places you’ll ever see, a cross between the Kimberley and Cape York,” he said.

“We had talked about doing a fishing show for a long time, and we ended up doing a business plan, and did some work on cost and potential sponsors.”
