ENTREPRENEURS wanting to score a free year’s rent for a prospective business in the Co-Store have until Friday to submit their idea to the Rural City of Wangaratta.

Council, in conjunction with the Co-Store, are running ‘The Trading Ground’ competition – similar to the television series ‘Shark Tank’ – where people with innovative and exciting business ideas pitch their cases to secure investment.

The original close off was last month but council received feedback that the expressions of interest (EOI) period clashed with holidays and back to school preparations.

After close of business this Friday council will choose 10 participants to undertake a range of business workshops through its small business development program.

A Shark Tank inspired event will then take place on May 12 when each business will pitch its idea to a panel of experts with a chance to win a 12-month rent free business space in the Co-Store.
