A NEW roof at the Eldorado Memorial Hall would help to future proof the historic structure, according to the committee of management.

The new roof has been flagged as a priority project under council’s Rural Placemaking Project, which set aside $350,000 for rural community projects in the 2017/18 budget.

Rural City of Wangaratta mayor Ken Clarke told the Chronicle earlier this week that final quotes for work on the project would be received at the end of this week.

It is hoped construction will be completed in June this year.

Eldorado Memorial Hall committee of management president John Bell said a new roof for the building would ensure the town’s many activities could continue to be held there into the future.
