Burchell’s home track redemption

WANGARATTA City FC’s speedy star Adam Burchell looks to this coming Saturday’s sports carnival as a chance for redemption.

The English import and Red Devils striker enjoyed a record breaking year, a year that saw him break the most goals in a season for the Albury Wodonga Football Association.

It is an accomplishment that he put down to his athletics based off season, and after coming second in the 70 metre final at last year’s Wangaratta Sports Carnival by 0.02 seconds, Burchell vowed to return and to win.

However, winning just got harder.

After a winning at Rye a fortnight ago over 400 metres, Burchell’s handicap was moved ever closer to scratch (his handicap went from 31 metres before the win at Rye to 28 metres after).

“I will have plenty of motivation this time around,” Burchell said.
