WILL Karl take ‘Clyde’ home on Sunday night?
That is the question heading into the Clyde Baker Medal count, with Glenrowan behemoth Karl Norman rated as the favourite to take out the illustrious award.
It is the third time Norman has been considered the favourite, but the Baker Medal is one of the few awards that has eluded the resilient on-baller.
In 2014 Norman was ranked equal favourite with eventual winner Daniel Godsmark, ultimately finishing third; while in 2015 he was the red hot tip but ended as runner up to Ben Bond.
Last year Norman missed six matches due to a serious finger injury, yet still managed to win another runner’s up trophy behind winner Kaine Herbert.
The 2017 coaches’ survey has eight of the 12 league coaches tipping Norman to take ‘Clyde’ home, along with two out of three media analysts.
