Magpie defenders up for tough assignment

CURBING the influence of the league’s leading goal scorer, North Albury’s Grace Senior, is the key to defeating the Hoppers.

Wangaratta defenders Hannah Grady and Katie Dean will have their hands full in tomorrow’s match as they attempt to stop the scoring prowess of Senior who has scored an almighty 516 goals at an average of 36.9 goals per game this season.

Senior was easily the difference in round eight when North Albury was able to make the most of their chances in the circle, with their young goal shooter the difference pouring in 44 goals at a clinical 79 per cent efficiency.

“Grace is obviously a very good goalie,” Wangaratta coach Kellie Keen said.

“We will have to pull out all stops to limit her; if we are able to do that then it will go a long way to us winning the game.

“Stopping the ball from entering the circle comes down to a whole team effort and one we must try our hardest to execute.”
