The Great Alpine Road from Harrietville to Mt Hotham open today with limited access

THE Great Alpine Road from Harrietville to Mt Hotham has re-opened to uphill traffic.

Due to recent severe weather conditions, the road is limited to one lane only in sections.

Delays are expected for cars travelling the road.

The descent from Mt Hotham to Harrietville remains closed with updates to be provided during the day.

The Omeo approach remains open in both direction.

All vehicles travelling the Great Alpine Rd, from Harrietville or Omeo, must fit diamond pattern chains to their vehicles where directed.

Victoria Police and Resort Management staff are on hand to assist in the movement of traffic.

Please obey all directions provided by their staff.

Mt Hotham has received over 100cm of snowfall since Friday, providing us with some of the best snow conditions since 2004.

We are looking forward to sharing in what will be a great August and September with our guests.
