World game opens doors

KAI Lyster is about to fulfil every young soccer player’s dream when he travels to Japan to play in some international ‘friendlies’ this month.

The talented 13 year old has been selected after a series of Football Federation Victoria (FFV) talent identification camps across the state in a Regional Victoria under 13 squad to tour Japan.

Kai began playing football at aged four and came through the junior ranks at Wangaratta City and has been a member of Murray United for the past three years.

“I’m looking forward to the experience,” he said.

“I’m pretty excited, soccer is a big thing for me

“It (the competition) will be a lot harder, there are a lot more experienced players and some have been in other state teams.”
