Rose looks to the past for future plans

ROSE Overberg has transformed her childhood passion for history into a prosperous career.

Rose, who moved to Wangaratta a number of years ago, thoroughly enjoys working as a heritage consultant in such a culturally rich rural centre.

“I have always been interested in history,” Rose reminisced.

“History is all about understanding the roots of society and I’ve always really enjoyed that.

“When the Aboriginal Heritage Act was passed into legislation and really stimulated the heritage industry in 2006, I was given the opportunity to become a heritage consultant.

“I love the amount of research that is involved in the diverse projects I work on.”
