THE generosity of the local community has left a lasting impact on those involved in the 4 Kids Future Appeal which is raising money for the children left orphaned after the Anzac Day tragedy in Wangaratta.

The combined fundraising efforts of the community so far have reached $75,000 and that should be boosted substantially this weekend with the sportsman’s day and charity auction on Sunday at the Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre from 4pm to 7pm.

Sam Baumanis from 3NE was given the task to coordinate donated items dropped off for the auctionand has been overwhelmed by the generosity of the community.

“Some of the people have made me feel quite emotional when they dropped off their gifts,” Sam said.

“I have been so moved with their support for the kids.

“As many have said, it could happen to any family.”
