A SECOND straight victory to start the 2017 Albury Wodonga Football Association season has Wangaratta City sitting second on the ladder, but assistant coach Mario Antonello has put heat on the Red Devils to improve.

Antonello said the Devils were lacklustre at times in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Albury City, and had the potential to play much better.

“That’s probably the most pleasing thing to come out of the match,” Antonello said.

“The fact that we know we can play a lot better than that.

“For the most part we played some really ordinary soccer.

“(Coach) Connor (Heffernan) had a crack at the boys at halftime because no one had really got out of second gear.
