Heartless bakery break-in

HEARTLESS thieves have targeted a local business for a quick cash grab, stealing a donation tin and cash register.

Wangaratta Plaza Bakery was broken into on Sunday afternoon, with thieves taking a cash register from the premises along with a Good Friday Appeal donation tin.

Owners Krystal and Scott Butler, who took over the business around 10 months ago, said while the theft was a blow for the business, the theft of the donation tin was “horrible”.

“It’s just disappointing,” Mrs Butler said.

“It’s been a hard year. First we had IGA close and now this…it’s been tough.

“We had a tin on the front bench for the Good Friday Appeal that’s also been taken.

“It almost makes me more angry that they took that than what they took from us.”
