KING Valley will take a mental edge into next weekend’s elimination final after a stunning one-point win over Tarrawingee on Saturday.

The Roos played the game on their terms from the outset, forcing a heavily contested style upon the Bulldogs and making life difficult for star full forward Kyle Raven.

While Raven was able to bring up his 100th goal for the season during the third quarter, he struggled to break the shackles of defender Vincent Star, and as a result the Bulldogs were never able to open up any sort of lead.

After trailing at each of the first two breaks, King Valley took a one-point advantage into the final term, with Jono Rea, Sam Evans and Hayden Murray all doing their best to lead their team to victory.

NOT ENOUGH TO SEE BULLDOGS THROUGH: Kyle Raven (pictured being tackled by Roos star Sam Evans) registered his 100th goal for the season in the third term, but the Roos showed plenty of grit to win the match 9.8 (62) to 9.7 (61). PHOTO: Caitlin Sartori
