Inspiration turns to competitive edge in juniors

AFTER weeks of watching the professionals on television it was time to put the inspiration and mental rehearsal into practice on Saturday when the junior competition resumed at WLTC.

A good number of players returned to the grass courts, some sporting new racquets they were keen to try out.

Many had taken advantage of the break to play in the various tournaments on offer and some had been hitting with mum and dad, but all got back into the swing of things quickly.

Some new players were welcomed to the competition and in the next couple of weeks there should be some younger players transitioning from the smaller hot shots competition to the full size courts.

Tessa Oates went down to the Australian Open and showed how much she learned by winning her section.

Kate Edmondson also watched and played in a lot of tennis over the holidays and went through her morning undefeated.
