THE prosperous buzz in the air was evident at the ninth and most successful to date Zonta Club of Wangaratta’s Young Women’s Career Breakfast held on Thursday.

Some 90 students hailing from schools across the North East including Wangaratta, Yarrawonga, Benalla and Rutherglen were paired with 31 mentors.

But the packed room at the Wangaratta Gateway Quality Hotel was brought to a silence as three key-note speakers beamed their inspirational career pathway stories, including Ceridwen Brown from Milawa Cheese Company.

She told the audience “don’t be afraid of being scared” when choosing a career pathway.

Wangaratta High School year 11 student, Sarah Murphy, said she took a great deal away from the morning.

“It’s good to see that the speakers have been brought up around here and now they’re some of the best in their fields here,” she said.

“It’s great to see other schools here and it’s wonderful to have so many girls here to network with and support Zonta and the community.”
