MILAWA Primary School has been crowned the 2015 Wangaratta Fun Run Primary School Challenge champion by a country mile.

“Ash Campbell, the new principal at Milawa Primary, told me they’d win,” event coordinator Sharon Scholz said.

“I usually take those statements with a grain of salt, but when I arrived at the school with only 64 students and was confronted with about 40 entry forms in December I knew he was serious.”

Campbell himself was delighted by the win.

“Milawa is a proud and proactive rural school in a vibrant and very active community,” Campbell said.

“The school started its journey early for the fun run and registered most of our entrants prior to Christmas.

“From then it has really been a combined effort of everyone across our school community to work towards the goal of completing the fun run.”
