Paul uses his gift of speed

ESSENDON’S Paul Tancredi became the newest runner to add his name to the Wangaratta Gift winners’ list on Saturday night.

Tancredi won the Rye Gift two weeks ago and said this was a perfect way to back up his performance.

“I haven’t run here at Wangaratta for the last couple of years so I just wanted to come down and have a go – I always enjoy it here,” he said.

“I’m going away tomorrow (Sunday) so I thought I might get some spending money for overseas.

“I’m going over to the United States for a couple weeks which will be a nice break.

“I’ve been doing it (sprinting) for 10 or 12 years now – I enjoy it, it keeps you fit and keeps your busy.”
