LOCAL pharmacist Craig O’Meara lost his 31 year old moustache on Friday, raising thousands of dollars for MS research.

A large crowd gathered at his Ovens Street business to see his mo go – his face naked for the first time since he was an 18 year old university student wanting to look more mature to get into pubs.

“Somebody who is close to the Ovens Street family has recently been diagnosed with MS and we thought about what we could do in a tangible way to help them out,” Craig said, noting the shaving was staff member Leanne Morrison’s idea.

Wangaratta MS Australia Ambassador Danny Potter said the effort, and community support, was outstanding.

“It grew into a monster and I don’t think Craig realised the magnitude of it when he first said what he was going to do,” Mr Potter said.
