HE walked the red carpet for Monday night’s Brownlow Medal presentation, and Scott Pendlebury will round out his grand final week in Wangaratta on Saturday morning.

The Collingwood captain will be guest speaker, along with Essendon champion Terry Daniher, at the Telstra Store Grand Final Day Breakfast, and is looking forward to the chance to meet local footy fans as a lead-in to the season finale.

“Breakfasts and functions like this are a great opportunity for people to ask questions and hear a little bit more about the game,” Pendlebury said.

“They’re also a great way to start grand final day.”

Having visited Wangaratta a couple of times in recent years, first for a Collingwood community camp and this year for a NAB Cup match against Richmond, Pendlebury said the city’s community spirit was what he remembered most.

“They love their footy – and Ben Reid’s famous there, he’s always reminding us about that,” he said.

Tickets for the breakfast, which runs from 7.30am to 11.30am on Saturday, are $120 per person or $1100 for a table of 10, and can be booked through Nolan Media and Events on 57217724 or online at www.cvent.com/d/n4qdw3.
