TWO legends of Australian sport will be speaking at a business charity lunch in Wangaratta next month.
Former Australian cricket captain, Ricky Pointing, and one of the all time North Melbourne greats, Glenn Archer, will be key note speakers at the Wangaratta Turf Club function on Friday, October 24.
The event is a fundraiser for Northeast Health Wangaratta and Cystic Fibrosis Victoria through Country Racing’s hospital helping hands program.
It gives regional families assistance when they have to attend the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.
Club CEO Paul Hoysted said funds help pay for medical bills and accommodation for the families while they’re involved, costs that can be expensive.
“We’ll also be donating some money to the Wangaratta Lions Club, to make all of the funds raised really beneficial to our community,” he said.
“It will be a massive day and we expect that the 400 person capacity marquee will sell out within the next month.”
