RECEIVING two hot laps in a V8 Supercar was the ride of a lifetime for Wangaratta youngster Brodie Pearson.
The nine-year-old was treated to the laps by favorite driver, Jason Bright, after Brodie was invited to spend time in Brad Jones Racing’s garage across the Winton 400 weekend.
Brodie initially donated all of his pocket money of $10.20 to Bright following a severe crash at the opening V8 Supercar round at the Adelaide Clipsal 500, so he could see Bright racing at Winton.
He was the youngest person to ever receive a hot lap, with V8 Supercars making an exception to the normal rule of the minimal age of 16, and was fitted in the car with a one-off child’s seat.
Brodie said his favorite part of the weekend was getting the hot laps with Bright and being able to spend time in the team’s garage.
He was also a guest on Channel Seven’s motorsport program, V8 Xtra, which was aired nationally on Saturday.
