AFTER weeks of anticipation, hundreds of local VCE students received their ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank) yesterday.

Lachie Brown was Cathedral College’s highest achiever, receiving an ATAR of 98.35, putting him in the top 1.65 per cent of students in the state.

Cathedral College principal, Adrian Farrer, said not only had Lachie had terrific success academically, he had also made the effort throughout the year to be involved in many extra curricular activities.

Galen Catholic College, with a cohort of 123 students completing their VCE, announced Sean Bartlett as its dux with an ATAR of 96.45.

Principal, Bernard Neal, said opportunities available to students through Galen’s VCE, VCAL and VET studies would allow students to tailor courses to suit particular needs and interests for the future.

Completing a trio of males topping the local dux honours, Tait Bonito from Wangaratta High School received an ATAR of 97.55.

WHS principal, Heather Sarau, said overall she was “very happy” with the results.
