MOYHU has put itself in a strong position to start recruiting for 2014, with the core group of senior players recommitting to the Hoppers this week, along with coach Joel Fisher.
Nathan Waite has been reappointed as an assistant coach, while star players Jaimon McGeehan, Ryan Craig, Jeremy Wilson, Nathan Thompson, Anthony Welsh and Ben Waite are all staying on for another season.
Fisher said it was a sign of the stability and mateship within the club that players continued to stay on despite getting substantially greater offers to move.
“The best thing about the whole process has been how quickly it has all been handled – everyone has basically said ‘yep, no worries’,” Fisher said.
“Those guys all get approached by other clubs, but in the end they love where they are.
“Most of them have been here together for a few years now and played in a premiership a couple of years ago.
“They can see that we are still competitive and there is a good chance to get back there, and they want to be a part of that.”
