MILAWA Football Netball Club is believed to have made Ovens and King League history on Saturday by winning six of the seven premiership cups on offer.

“Our club has been around since 1903 and certainly to our knowledge we don’t know of a bigger haul,” club president Trevor Hourigan told the Wangaratta Chronicle yesterday, amid celebrations being enjoyed by hundreds of families at the Milawa football ground, which started on Saturday evening.

“It was a fantastic effort by so many people, which makes me very proud, particularly as we remain a local club, with local players.”
