AFTER entering the grand final undefeated, Milawa claimed Saturday’s Ovens and King A grade netball premiership, overcoming a firing Greta side.
The Demons, in their tightest match of the year, eclipsed the Blues by eight goals.
Coach Kim Michelini was thrilled.
“We’ve only won two A grade premierships in 57 years, so it’s an absolutely amazing feeling,” she said.
“We had a game plan, and it went accordingly.”
“Greta had their strengths and weaknesses like us, but it came down to the girls capitalising on mistakes and opportunities, and the girls wanting it.”
“I’d been telling the girls to chip away, I sat there for 60 minutes screaming it, and it snowballed on to the court, and it’s what the girls did in the end.”
“Greta came out firing, and to start with, we were going over their arms instead of around them,”
“We had to play it safe, and it’s what we did.”
