MILAWA will head into tomorrow’s Ovens and King Football League grand final at full strength, with star on-baller Nathan Hooper a certainty to play after recovering from injury.
Hooper missed last weekend’s preliminary final win over Moyhu in mysterious circumstances, with the talk around the traps suggesting that he had suffered a quadriceps or hamstring strain at training on the Thursday night.
But coach Mick Newton said Hooper’s absence was the result of a workplace incident.
“He stepped on a nail at work,” Newton said.
“It wasn’t too bad, but he was still a bit proppy on Saturday, so we didn’t play him.
“We certainly missed him, but he will definitely play this week.”
Other potential inclusions for the Demons include Anthony McGuire, who is coming off a best on ground performance in the reserves, Nick Coles and Jon Jones, although with no injuries in the senior side there may not be any spots available.
