MILAWA president Trevor Hourigan says the club has exceeded all its pre-season expectations by having all six teams qualify for Saturday’s Ovens and King grand final.
The Demons’ four netball sides and senior football team all finished as minor premier and gained direct entry into the grand final while the reserves football had a thrilling victory over North Wangaratta in Sunday’s preliminary final.
While unsure whether or not it had been done before by any other club, Hourigan said it was the first time in Milawa’s history that every side had made the grand final in the one year.
“It’s pretty amazing,” he said.
“It’s definitely the first time we’ve done it as a club.
“To have six in the grand final certainly beats all expectations we had this year.
“Having four netball sides that have won 80 games without a loss is super.
“They would all have to go in favorites.”
