INDEPENDENT Cathy McGowan has welcomed the attention given to Indi by the Coalition.
Though she was the target of thinly veiled attacks from Joe Hockey and Barnaby Joyce, Ms McGowan saw their visits to Indi last week as a positive.
“It’s fantastic these people are coming here and paying so much attention to this electorate,” she said.
“I’m really pleased our grass roots campaign has raised the profile of this region.”
Usually loathe to engage in a tit for tat argument, Ms McGowan did question Mrs Mirabella’s statements about the benefits of a being a cabinet minister.
“Could the member for Indi please explain to us how sitting at the cabinet table would deliver better services to us,” she said.
“How will that help us address mobile phone black spots, get decent broadband and get our trains on track?
“If elected I will hold the Coalition to account on all these promises it is making.”
